Monsoon weather

A couple of months ago, we had a few really bad rain storms that caused all kinds of flooding. There was one day that was so bad that some of the main streets were flooded and my in-laws' house almost got flooded. The water came all the way up to the foundation, but thankfully stopped there. Some of their neighbors had inches of water in their homes. These pictures are from a day that was not nearly that bad. But there was plenty of rain to have some fun with Aunt Chandler and the cousins at Grandma's house.

American flag project

Before the 4th, Hannah and I did an art project one day while Clara was napping. I was really excited about it, but Hannah threw a HUGE fit. The problem turned out to be that Hannah just wanted to free paint first. So I let her do her thing and then she cooperated perfectly for the project. She loved how her American flag turned out, and loved it so much that we still have it sitting on the piano. And now every time we see a real flag she gets super excited and starts yelling at the top of her lungs "It's the American flag!! It's the American flag!!!"

4th of July

For the 4th of July we went to my in-laws' like we always do. There were lots of people and lots of craziness going on. We tried staying for the fireworks, but Hannah was terrified and both girls were completely exhausted so it was kind of a bust. But we still had a good time. Hannah even held a sparkler... for about a minute before one of the "sparkles" landed on her neck and it was the end of the world.

Tragedy has struck! Hahaha

Clara LOVES Ruger!

He's not impressed.

We love Emily, Part 2

Another day this summer, we drove over to Dallas and spent a few hours at Emily's house with the whole family. It was especially fun because Emily had just gotten a new playground in her back yard, AND she had sidewalk chalk. The girls were in hog heaven!

Hahaha! I love their faces in this picture! Too funny.

Clara was obsessed with putting all the chalk in the dirt. I have no idea why.

We love Emily

One day a few months ago, my mom was babysitting my niece, Emily, and had Hannah with her. We decided to meet in the middle and go to the aquarium and to trade Hannah back to me. We had lots of fun! Emily was so cute and just wanted to run everywhere the entire time. And Clara was just getting old enough to be interested in some of the fish. But mostly, we just loved spending time with Emily!
