Hannah had her doctor's appointment this week, and here's what we found out. She is 29 inches tall, which is only in the 25th percentile, I was totally shocked by this! My daughter seriously has the longest legs I've ever seen on a baby. But she weighs 24 pounds, which is the 81st percentile and her head circumference is like 41 or 42 inches (I can't remember that one as well) which is the 50th percentile. We went to a new doctor since I seriously disliked the last doctor we went to, and I'm so glad we did. They were so much nicer and more knowledgeable, and didn't look at me like I had 3 heads when I told them I had her with a midwife and was still nursing at almost 13 months. So that was a nice change. Hannah's doing really well and is totally healthy. I'm really getting down to business with the whole weaning thing. Today I'm taking it down to just 2 feedings a day, so we'll see how it goes. I just put her down for a nap without nursing for the first time in her entire life. Let me tell you, she was not impressed, but I did it and it didn't take her as long as I though it would to stop crying. Now we'll just have to wait and see how she does the rest of the day. Wish me luck!

Birthday Party Part 3- Presents!
Hannah definitely made out like a bandit. She got several new books- which she loves, along with a ball, an Elmo, a classic telephone toy, an original teddy bear, some Winnie the Pooh toys, a cute new outfit, a puzzle, a bunch of bath toys, and probably a few other things I can't remember right at the moment. Hannah wasn't too interested in the whole opening presents thing, but once they were open she loved it. ..... Well, the toys she got to see anyway. Her cousins were hilarious. Dan's Dad, Russ started calling them the "conquering horde" because as soon as something got pulled out, one of them would run in, steal it, and run away with it. Hannah's cousin Isabelle, on the other hand, sat next to me the whole time and was a great little helper getting me things and giving toys to Hannah. A big thank you needs to go out to my sister-in-law, Natalie for taking these great pictures for me. She got lots of really good ones! We were pretty exhausted after everybody left, but it was a lot of fun!

Birthday Party Part 2- Swings!
Hannah and her cousins had tons of fun playing on our swing set during her party. I don't really know why kids love to be outside when it's over 100 degrees, but hey. They had fun and that's what matters, right?
| What a stud |
| These two were having way too much fun! |

Birthday Party Part 1- Cake!
For the party, I decided to make cupcakes for the kids, and got a delicious bunt cake for the adults. If you've never heard of "Nothing Bunt Cakes," look them up and see if there's one near you because they are amazing. And they do really cute decorations on the cakes, too. Here's my attempt at taking artsy pictures of the cake.
We gave Hannah one of the cupcakes, but surprisingly, she wasn't very into it. I definitely thought she'd like it better than she did. She just kept poking the frosting and only ate a couple of bites of it. I loved the princess hat that came on the cake and thought it was so cute, but Dan just kept calling it her "dunce cap." Boys.

Grandpa
So this has taken me a long time to get around to because Hannah got sick and then, of course, I got sick too and I've had absolutely no energy. But here we go, finally. Hannah's birthday was on a Wednesday, and then on Friday my dad flew in from DC for her birthday party. He stayed with us Friday night so that he could get some quality time with her before everyone else showed up. It was a lot of fun. Hannah has gotten to be very friendly lately, so she warmed up to Grandpa in no time and quickly had him wrapped around her finger. We went out to dinner and then watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. Side note: that night, Hannah managed to get out of her crib, open her door (which was closed all the way but not latched) and crawl out to the living room. The crib was not lowered all the way and had a bumper on it, so I guess she used the bumper to get up over the railing... and thankfully managed to land on her butt and not on her head. Needless to say, her bed has been lowered as far as it can go. It was great to have my Dad here to celebrate, even though it was a super short visit.
