Christmas Day

We spent most of Christmas day at my brother's house. My dad and Steve flew in that morning and were there in time for an early dinner. Hannah, Dan, my Dad, and Steve all got to see my new niece, Emily, for the first time. Hannah was instantly obsessed. She LOVES Emily. She asks for Emily every day; multiple times. And every baby she sees that's smaller than her in Emily. She also fell in love with my sister-in-law Trish. I think this is funny because she sees Trish the least of all her aunts- well, the ones that live in America anyway- and yet she is the only one whose name Hannah has learned. Of course, she also has the easiest name to learn, but still. She also asks for Trish every day now.
Hannah REALLY wanted to hold Emily, so we let her.

Aunt Trish and Emily

It had been raining hard all morning, and as we were getting ready to eat, we happened to look out the window to discover:
It was snowing!!! Yay! Snow on Christmas?? In Texas? Sweet! The forecast had said that we might have some flurries, so we were pretty excited to see this much coming down, but had no real expectations. So we ate and opened presents.

And then we looked outside, and boy were we surprised!
It was a winter wonderland!! Well, by Texas standards, anyway, so of course we had to send Hannah out into it, even though we were not really equipped for winter weather..

Loving it!

Hannah's first snow ball!

Then we went in to warm up and spend a few more minutes before heading home on the already icy roads to try to beat the setting sun. It was a great day!

Santa

Santa (aka-my mom) visited our house this Christmas! Hannah got a totally awesome tricycle. It is one that grows with you, so you can start using it at 9 months and you gradually take things off until it is a regular trike. Hannah LOVES it! She's pretty much obsessed, actually. For the first several days we kept it inside and she made Dan push her around the house in it for hours on end. I'm sure this would have continued, had Dan not had to go back to work but I'm too lazy to push her in a circle all day long. But every time she gets to ride in it, she loves it and doesn't want to get out.
This is what I got woken up by on Christmas morning

Christmas Eve

For Christmas eve, we went to Dan's parents' for dinner and presents. Hannah was pretty funny with opening presents. She could only tear up. She also did a lot better with it on this night than she did the next day, possibly because there were less distractions... Or maybe after this she figured out that we would open them for her and then she could play with them with less hassle. Either way, she made out like a bandit this Christmas and loves her presents.

Christmas dress

I am so behind! But I'm finally starting to catch up! This is Hannah's Christmas dress, which she loves. The whole time I was putting it on her she kept saying "Pretty! Pretty! Pretty!" Merry Belated Christmas, everybody!
