Grandpa!

My dad came in August to visit the kids and meet Lucy. We had fun going to the zoo and the botanical gardens. We tried to go on a train ride, but there was a water main break along the route and the train was closed. The girls weren't too sad, though, because there were some kids there having a birthday party and they invited our kids to join them. They got snacks and cake, conductors hats and train whistles. They loved it! We tried to get pictures of all the grandkids with Grandpa, but Clara would not cooperate. Oh well.....

Lucy's blessing

The sad part of having multiple children is that sometimes, events that used to be a big deal get lost in the shuffle. I don't remember when exactly we blessed Lucy. I know it was later than what we've done for the other two because she fit into the dress better that Hannah or Clara did. I may have written down what was said in the blessing, but I don't know where. What I do have are a few pictures of her in the dress.

Hannah's birthday party

This year, Hannah decided she wanted a pirate birthday party. She loves Peter Pan and Jake and the Neverland Pirates and even the movie Hook. So my mom and Dan's sister, Chandler took the theme and ran with it. They had all kinds of water games, a ring toss game using a crocodile, they had to walk the plank, and Chandler and her friend even dressed up as pirates. Hannah loved it and all of the kids had lots of fun.

Hannah HATED being sprayed by the hose!

ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

4th of July

So, I don't have a single picture of Hannah from the 4th of July. That poor child is such a scaredy cat! She ran inside screaming and crying hysterically after the first noisy firework. It was this little car thing that made a loud screeching sound and spewed firework stuff. Hannah was done. She was completely and utterly terrified and is officially scarred for life. I'm pretty sure she'll be in therapy till the end of time as a result. Clara, on the other hand, didn't mind at all and pretty much had a blast all day.
