Grandpas are Great!

Lately, Hannah has been afraid of her Grandpa Whitworth. She will cry when she sees him, and especially if he tries to hold her. It's so sad! We keep trying to tell her that he's nice and that he's the one she needs to suck up to, but she didn't believe us. But on Christmas Eve, she gave her Grandpa a great present. She let him hold her, but even better than that, she was happy about it! It was so great. Then, on Christmas day, her Great Grandpa Whitworth surprised us by showing up for a short visit. It was the first time he's seen her, so it was great that he came. She wasn't sure who he was or why he was holding her, but she was okay with it and didn't cry, which made me happy. And we got good pictures which makes me even happier.

Toes!!!

I have so many great pictures from this weekend! To kick things off ( no pun intended), Hannah has finally discovered her toes. It is so cute! Of course, I find it absolutely disgusting when she sticks them in her mouth and sucks on them, but what can you do? She loves them!

5 months!

I can't believe it's already Christmas Eve and that in addition to Christmas, Hannah will be 5 months old tomorrow. Time sure does fly. Hannah took a bit of a break from the big milestones this month; probably due in part to the fact that she's been sick for the last 2 weeks or so. The one thing she did accomplish which has made both our lives a little happier is the ability to roll back over from her stomach to her back. She's so happy about it and often will roll back and forth over and over just because she can.

Although that was her only major milestone, she has used the time to perfect the skills she has already learned. She's very good at grabbing things and bringing them to her mouth. She's getting closer to being able to sit up by herself and she's starting to want to crawl, but she hasn't figured out how to get up on her knees yet. She's had a cold for the last two and a half weeks... well, I think it's two different colds actually. She got one from me, and the other from her dad (via Uncle Luke) and a few days ago she had a little stomach bug and had a low grade fever and diarrhea. Ooh, fun! Luckily that went away quickly, but she still has a stuffy nose and a cough. It's making her throat really hoarse, which is kind of funny because she tries to make her little screeching noise and nothing comes out but air. Poor little baby. Hopefully next month will involve less illness.

Fun with Daddy

I'm sure I've mentioned before how much Hannah loves her Daddy. She totally thinks he's the bee's knees. He gets her to laugh harder and more often than anyone else. When he's home she loves for him to play with her, hold her, and especially to read to her. One night he was reading something to me and had the book in front of his face. Hannah was sitting up in my lap and just couldn't stand it. She kept leaning over  and squirming around trying to see him around the book, at which point he would lower the book and she would sit back up. This process repeated itself until I was laughing so hard I cried. They are so goofy.

As you can see, he's begun to teach her how to play video games. She was into it for a few minutes but got bored pretty quick. I can't say I blame her.

Dan loves to hold her upside down and swing her around, and all sorts of craziness, and she loves it too. As you'll see in the video, it gets big smiles from her. I sure do love these two!!

Visit from an old friend

Last week one of my college roommates (Rebecca Mills, AKA-Becca Becca) was in town and dropped by for a visit. It was so great to catch up and for her to meet Hannah. And Hannah enjoyed it too. She was all smiles.... until she got hungry and tired. I had such great roommates in college, and I'm so grateful  that we're still friends!

Don't let the screeching fool you. Hannah LOVES this! Less than 2 minutes before I took this video, she was giggling like crazy. I never get my camera in time. Daddy is her favorite person in the whole world. He gets her to laugh every day... which is more than I can say for myself. And she cries if she sees him leave. They are so funny to watch because he pesters the tar out of her, but she loves it and smiles and laughs the whole time. It's so cute and definitely keeps things interesting around here.
